The Truth of the Matter

While chatting with a coworker, (whom I’ve spoken spiritual truths to in the past and am believing has planted seeds in her) the woman revealed the she believes everything happens for a reason and that the Lord put her through problems in the past to prepare her for what she is going through now.
The current problem she is referring to is that her husband has brain damage, which limits who he once was as the man she had married and causes him to forget most things, including hurtful things he sometimes says to his wife.

The brain injury was a result of the husband’s personal choice to box for years. The Lord didn’t lead him to make that choice, because, to my knowledge, my coworkers’s husband was not a believer at the time. The Lord did not bring the brain injury on this man, nor was it in the Lord’s plans for him to experience that for his and her present or future.

A wonderful truth about being joined with the Lord and treating His guidance seriously is that all great things are possible in Him! If this man seeks, learns, and applies to His life how the Lord would lead Him (not according to the man’s limitations, but in the strength of the Lord…Philippians 4:13) or his wife believing for him in prayer and active faith, they WOULD see and know the manifest healing of any brain injury! Here is more of the Word that speaks in my Lord’s defense, especially in showing that the Lord is not the source of everything that happens…

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33

Jesus here is informing the disciples (and us current disciples!) that situations and challenges will occur in our lives. It is because we are in this world, where satan and his realm of darkness has much influence, because not everyone is a believer who values godly standards and are not living by the complete guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus also shares that

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.  Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’  If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.  They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me” ~John 15:18-21

Jesus does not take responsibility for giving any of these problems to us!  In John 16:33, Jesus reveals that problems come through all that is of this world.  Jesus is not of the world, otherwise He would not have shared that He has overcome the world in His people’s lives!
So, not everything that happens is the Lord’s doing and to prepare you for situations of defeat that you have to endure. The Lord doesn’t bring degrading afflictions on us to teach us things! But what He DOES DO and has ALWAYS done, for the one who has a relationship with Him, is take advantage of every situation if you continue to seek and let Him.

We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan ~Romans 8:28

Whether it is a mess you have gotten yourself into or it’s the enemy’s attempt to interfere in your life, the Lord can and does want to work it to your good by helping you overcome it, help you to stay victorious to live the full abundant life that He has called you to, and even with your testimony expose the lie in others’ lives for both their benefit and to the benefit of the Lord’s goodness!
